Umami Burgers
The juiciest burger you'll ever have!
INGREDIENTS (makes 4 servings)
1 lb minced bison or beef
1/2 cup small yellow onion, diced
227g mushrooms, diced
1 tbsp olive oil
1/4 tsp salt
pinch black pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
2 tbsp ground flaxseed
1 1/2 tbsp soy sauce or tamari
PROCEDURE
1) Heat a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add in oil, onions, mushrooms, salt and pepper. Cook for 7-8 minutes, until veggies are softened and most of the water has evaporated.
2) Meanwhile, preheat oven to 420F and line a baking tray with parchment paper. Place the minced meat in a large bowl, and add in the flax, garlic powder and tamari. Pour the cooked veggies on top and mix well. Form into 4 patties and place onto baking tray. Bake for 25 minutes. Serve with a bun and your favourite toppings!
NOTES: You can cook these burgers in the air-fryer too! Reduce the temperature to 400F.
